San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers were the first major league professional sports franchise to be based in San Francisco. They were part of the All-American Football Conference until merging with the NFL in 1950. The 49ers name was selected in recognition of the pioneering and adventurous spirit of men involved in the 1849 Gold Rush at the Sierra Nevada Mountains, east of San Francisco. Between 1988 and 1990, the 49ers set an amazing league record with 18 consecutive road victories. The 49ers were also the first NFL franchise to win back-to-back Super Bowls under different head coaches. This panorama of the San Francisco 49ers playing at Candlestick Park was photographed by Christopher Gjevre.

Sunday afternoon at Candlestick Point, with a jam-packed crowd thrilling to another big Niners touchdown...it doesn't get any better than this! From the action on the field below, to the ecstatic crowd, to the scoreboards, video screens, and unique stadium architecture, it's all here - the entire scene from the stadium, looking absolutely fantastic for your wall. Printed in brilliant color and perfect focus on high-quality paper stock, and complete with a sharp white border that includes the official team logo and a brief descriptive paragraph, this is both a beauty for the wall of home or office, and a great collector's item for years to come. Perfect for the wall of any fan of 49ers football and big-time NFL action! Note: this design is now out-of-print; limited quantity remains in our warehouse.
