It was one of the capstone moments of the Golden Age of baseball, and quite possibly the most famous Home Run ever hit! With the Yankees sitting home on October 3, 1951, awaiting a World Series opponent, the nip-and-tuck National League pennant race was still undecided two games and 8½ innings after the regular season ended. In the bottom of the ninth, with his team's back against the wall, Bobby Thomson, "The Staten Island Scot" stepped to the plate against reliever Ralph Branca at the Polo Grounds with two runners on base, one out, and his Giants down 4-2. Then, on the second pitch of the at-bat, it happened. "The Giants Win the Pennant...The Giants Win the Pennant...And they're going crazy! They're going crazy!"

Printed in poster size exclusively for The Sports Poster Warehouse, this historic image brings you back to that historic afternoon at Coogan's Bluff, when Thomson shocked the Dodgers and the world with his Pennant-winning heroics. From just seconds after he crossed the plate as the winning run, this image features the hero on the shoulders of his teammates, high above the adoring crowd that, moments before, were resigned to seeing their beloved Giants once again fall just short of the Fall Classic. Printed from the original classic black-and-white negative, and authorized with an official MLB Authentic serialized hologram, it gives you the the ultimate commemoration of the most incredible moment in Giants history, and a brilliant reminder of a time when baseball was truly our National pastime. A true vintage classic, this hall-of-fame image is perfect for the wall of any true baseball fan!
