Re-live the three greatest Octobers in modern Detroit sports history! With this amazing compilation DVD, you get Major League Baseball's official films for the 1945, 1968, and 1984 World Series. From heroes Virgil Trucks and Hank Greenberg returning from war to lead the 1945 squad, to the remarkable upset pulled off by Mickey Lolich, Denny McLain, Al Kaline, Willie Horton, and the rest in '68, to Kirk Gibson's heroics in '84, this is Tigers heroics at its finest - and these films are absolute classics!

First, the 1945 World Series film, featuring a seven-game thriller that kicked off the post-war era. With narration from Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Elson, and direction from baseball film pioneer Lew Fonseca, this 26-minute feature includes all the key plays in stunning black-and-white: the Cubs bombing AL MVP Hal Newhouser in Game 1 for a 9-0 victory at sparkling Briggs Stadium; returning vets Trucks and Greenberg providing the margin of victory in Detroit's 4-1 Game 2 win; Claude Passeau's surprising 1-hitter to give his Cubs 3-0 win in Game 3, taking the Cubs back to Wrigley Field with a series lead for the final four games; Dizzy Trout's dominance for Detroit in Game 4; Greenberg bashing three doubles to the ivy in Detroit's Game 5 victory; all the key moments of the thrilling 8-7 12-inning win for the Cubs in Game 6; and Chicago manager Charley Grimm's big mistake that cost the Cubs the series, coming back with a worn-out Henry Borowy and getting beat handily 9-3 in Game 7.

Next, it's the 1968 film, narrated by Hall of Fame broadcaster Curt Gowdy, featuring the miraculous comeback 7-game victory for the Detroit Tigers over the Cards. With 42 minutes of amazing highlights from MLB film cameras and NBC television coverage, you get all the action from this legendary Fall Classic: Bob Gibson's record-setting 17 strikeouts and 6th-straight World Series win in Game 1; Mickey Lolich's 2-hitter in Game 2 to even the series (and comments from Mickey himself on his first career Home Run); Awesome footage of grand old Tiger Stadium from Cardinals victories in Games 3 and 4, and from Detroit's 5-3 victory in Game 5 that includes Bill Freehan discussing his play at the plate to tag out Lou Brock; Detroit's 10-run 3rd inning that blew away the Cards in Game 6; and Curt Flood's notorious misplay of Jim Northrup's fly ball that led to the winning runs in Detroit's thrilling Game 7 victory. From the first pitch of Game 1, to McCarver's meek foul popup to end the series, all the important action is here!

Finally, it's the 1984 World Series film, narrated by the great Mel Allen. Starting with brief highlights from the ALCS and NLCS, you get more than 32 minutes of coverage from the World Series, accentuated by sound captured from wireless microphones on the coaches, umpires, and managers Sparky Anderson and Jack McKeon: Larry Herndon's two-run game-winning homer, and Jack Morris' complete game brilliance in Game 1; Andy Hawkins' clutch relief for a disastrous Ed Whitson, and Kurt Bevacqua's one-hit-wonder of a performance, in San Diego's Game 2 victory; Marty Castillo repeating Bevacqua's unexpected heroics for the Tigers with a Home Run in the Game 3 win; Alan Trammell's pair of two-run homers off Eric Show to put Detroit within a game of a championship; and the dramatic showdown between Rich Gossage and Kirk Gibson in the 8th inning of Game 5, as Gibson hit his second homer of the game, and the Tigers sealed their fourth World Series championship. (Note: due to damage to the original master at Major League Baseball Productions, there are several momentary audio and video glitches in this presentation).

With rare, historic coverage that also includes stars Roy Cullenbine, Eddie Mayo, Paul Richards, Rudy York, Willie Horton, Norm Cash, Al Kaline, Dick McAuliffe, Jim Northrup, Mickey Stanley, Denny McLain, Dal Maxvill, Orlando Cepeda, Lou Brock, Roger Maris, Mike Shannon, Tony Gwynn, Graig Nettles, Garry Templeton, Alan Wiggins, Steve Garvey, Dave Dravecky, Terry Kennedy, Chet Lemon, Lance Parrish, Lou Whitaker, Milt Wilcox, Dan Petry, Aurelio Lopez, Willie Hernandez, and many more, this is an amazing find for any fan. Whether you are a fan of the Tigers, or simply a lover of baseball's Fall Classic, this is a must-have for your collection!
