Sweden are Olympic champions once again! Thanks to the brilliance of NHL
superstars Henrik Lundqvist, Mats Sundin, Peter Forsberg, Fredrik Modin,
Henrik Zetterberg, Daniel Alfredsson, Daniel & Henrik Sedin, Nicklas
Lidstrom, and the rest of the squad, Team Sweden overcame the odds to survive
the round robin, the upstart Swiss and overmatched Czech Republic in the
playoffs, and the tremendous Finland team in the final to earn its second-ever
men's hockey gold medal. This DVD, part of a 6-disc series put out by Canada's
CBC television network, celebrates Sweden's victory with the complete live
broadcast of the gold medal game from February 26, 2006 at Turin's Palasport
Olimpico. All the action is here, from Kimmo Timonen's first-period goal
for Finland, to Lidstrom's dramatic third-period marker that capped the
comeback and brought glory to the Swedes. Also included on the disc are
highlights from the quarter-final and semi-final rounds, as well as highlights
from the bronze-medal game between Russia and the Czech Republic, and a
20-minute feature chronicling Canada's round-robin journey. An amazing
record of a historic hockey tournament, and a must for the collection of
