history! Just a year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the state's Gulf coast
and nearly destroyed the Superdome, all the stars aligned perfectly for
a January 3, 2007 party on the Bayou. With the home-state heroes from Baton
Rouge finishing the season at 11-2 and a #4 national ranking, and with
the Sugar Bowl returning to New Orleans' freshly renovated stadium, it
seemed pre-ordained that the LSU Tigers would provide the Cajun Nation
with some much-needed joy, and they did! After a 41-14 thrashing of Charlie
Weis' Notre Dame Fighting Irish, it was party time. Celebrate once again
