A Panoramic View in Philadelphia, PA - The Rob Arra Collection
Note the ball in motion

From The Vet to this? Philly fans much be pinching themselves - this is too good to be true! After 33 years at the rat-infested monstrous concrete rotunda, the Phillies finally have a ballpark to be proud of. Despite rain, wind, and a gametime temperature of 48 degrees, a full house of 41,626 has settled in to witness history by celebrating game #1 at the spectacular new Citizens Bank Park. As Phillies starter Randy Wolf delivers the first pitch to Reds leadoff batter D'Angelo Jimenez...SNAP! The moment is preserved for all-time, and is now available for your wall!

Like all prints in photographer Rob Arra's Everlasting Images series, every single detail is in perfect focus, and as you pan across the image you feel like you are actually there, part of that historic day at a ballpark that has become an instant classic. Along with Wolf's first pitch in flight, you can see the rest of the players on the field (including Barry Larkin on deck, infielders Jim Thome, Placido Polanco, Jimmy Rollins, and David Bell, and outfielders Marlon Byrd, Pat Burrell, and Bobby Abreu); the magnificent scoreboard tower in left; the classic clock and mezzanine in center; the amazing old-style iron roof and light towers; the fans in the stands; and, of course, the giant Liberty Bell past the right-center-field gap (Jim Thome's new target!). Although opening day was not so glorious on the field, it was incredible to see a new era begin in the sparkling new digs. Phillies fans, this is an absolute must-have addition to your sports wall-of-fame!
