Now known as the best manager of young talent in the game, Felipe Alou was also known as an excellent baseball player in the 1960s, the best of the three Alou brothers. He is also known as the father of NL MVP candidate Moises Alou of the Houston Astros.

Somewhat of a journeyman, Alou enjoyed his finest all-around season when he joined the Atlanta Braves in 1966. With 122 runs scored, a .327 average, and 31 Home Runs, Alou finished fifth in MVP voting.

Part of our late-'60s poster find, this one is a gem. The photo is great both for fans of Alou, and fans of the Atlanta Braves, as it shows the earliest uniforms used by the Braves after the move from Milwaukee. The litho quality is so good, you won't believe that this poster is 30 years old!
