First up is the old home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, Ebbets Field - baseball's ultimate bandbox, with the short porch in left, the "screen monster" in right, and classic 1950s advertisements filling the outfield walls (The Brass Rail, Lucky Strikes, Stadlers, Bulova, Schaefer, Gem Razor Blades...). Next is the Polo Grounds, home of the New York Giants, photographed during the 1954 World Series, with its odd outfield dimensions, massive centerfield bleachers, towering light standards, and the classic "Always Buy Chesterfield" ad. Finally, there's pre-renovation Yankee Stadium from the mid-1960s, with the original low outfield wall, wraparound bleachers, ring of advertising, Bronx buildings beyond the outfield wall, and even the giant flagpole sitting in the middle of the warning track in center! The beautiful sepia-tone photography will bring back a flood of memories for those who lived through the era, and will give any modern baseball fan a chance to dream about what it was like to live in New York in the age of Duke Snider, Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, Alvin Dark, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford, Yogi Berra, and all the rest of the legends of the game.
