Fresh off a 20-win season, David Cone helped form an incredible 1-2 punch with Dwight Gooden in 1989. When Gooden's string of injuries began that season, Cone became the staff ace and held that honor for the next three seasons, until a deadline deal sent him to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992. He has since been part of four World Series Championship teams, and has been amongst the American League's elite ever since.
