Major League Baseball returned to Kansas City in 1969 with the expansion Royals. They became the model expansion franchise, winning division titles by the mid-1970s. This poster was published in just the third year of the franchise, before Royals Stadium opened, and just before the team became a powerhouse with the likes of George Brett, Paul Splittorf, Frank White, and Dan Quisenberry.
