Dallas Stars - Mike Modano No. 9
This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, pays tribute to a player that had one of the most illustrious careers in NHL history. On Saturday, March 8, 2014, the Dallas Stars honored hockey icon Mike Modano by retiring his Number 9. The seven-time NHL All-Star played 20 of his 21 NHL seasons with the Stars organization. Inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2012, he became the franchise leader in nearly every statistical category, as well as finishing his career as the all-time leading American-born scorer in NHL history. Instrumental in helping the Stars capture the 1999 Stanley Cup championship, he represented Team USA at the Olympic Games on three separate occasions.
It was a breathtaking sight to see, and a fantastic, emotional night at the American Airlines Center - the entire arena lit up in a Stars-green hue , and the greatest Star in franchise history having his jersey lifted to the rafters for all-time! This spectacular panoramic print captures the pre-game festivities from that magical evening to perfection, with Mike's emotional visage on the main video screen, watching his number nine take its rightful spot in the Dallas sports pantheon. Amazing! Printed in brilliant color and perfect focus on high-quality print stock, and complete with a sharp white border that includes the official Dallas Stars logo, the commemorative title, and the above descriptive paragraph, this gameday panorama is both a beauty for the wall, and a great collector's item for years to come. Whether you were there that night, were watching at home, or are a long-time fan of Modano and the Stars, this one's for you. Perfect for the wall of home, office, locker room or arena!
