Tampa Bay LightningThis panorama, taken by James Simmons, captures the Tampa Bay Lightning playing for a win at their home opener. Often referred to as the Bolts, the Lightning first took the ice on October 7, 1992 and moved into their current home, the Tampa Bay Times Forum, in 1996. Lightning fans have benefited from numerous upgrades to the Forum, including a $5 million scoreboard, with the largest high-definition video display throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Lightning has the distinction of becoming the first team from the final wave of expansion, as well as the first Sunbelt team to capture the Stanley Cup Championship. The Bolts are also the sixth team in NHL history to win a title in their finals debut.
