Indiana University - Memorial StadiumThis panorama of Memorial Stadium, taken by Christopher Gjevre, highlights the action of an Indiana Hoosiers football game. Memorial Stadium, located in Bloomington, Indiana, opened in 1960. It replaced the "old" Memorial Stadium, a 20,000 seat stadium built in 1925. After many renovations, seating capacity now holds 52,692. The Hoosiers football program began in 1887 and competes in the Big Ten Conference. Established in 1820 as the Indiana State Seminary, eight years later the name was changed to Indiana College and officially changed to Indiana University in 1838. Indiana University enrolls 107,000 plus students at all IU campuses.
