Boise State University - Bronco Stadium This panorama of Bronco Stadium, taken by Christopher Gjevre, captures the action of a Boise State Broncos football game. This WAC Conference football team is known for its superior winning achievements. Breaking ground in 1969, Bronco Stadium opened in 1970 with a seating capacity of 14,500. Today, after major expansions in 1975, 1997 and 2008, it now seats 33,500 fans. Nicknamed "The Blue", the Stadium is home to the famous Blue Turf, the first non-green playing surface ever installed. Located in Boise, Idaho, nestled along the Boise River, the University campus covers 175 acres. Established in 1932 as Boise Junior College, Boise State University currently enrolls nearly 20,000 students.
