On the right, with its white roof is McKale Memorial Center, home of the Wildcats basketball, volleyball and gymnastics competitions. The University of Arizona was established in 1885 as the first university in the Arizona Territory and emphasizes excellence in teaching, research and public service. The university has over 36,000 students and over 14,000 employees.
