Since opening in 1975, the stadium has experienced several renovations and today seats 55,000 fans. Founded in 1858 in Ames, Iowa, Iowa State University has grown considerably. It is now recognized internationally for its comprehensive research programs and has over 100 majors and more than 800 student organizations with student enrollment near 30,000.
